ZIMBABWE international forward, Khama Billiat, ended days of uncertainty when he completed his move from Ajax Cape Town to Mamelodi Sundowns for a record-breaking R9 million. Agreement between the two clubs was reached on Wednesday night although the possible inclusion of striker Eleazor Rodgers or defender Clayton Daniels in the deal is still being negotiated, according to sources.
Given that Rodgers cost R6 million to buy, the actual cost of this transfer could creep past the R13 million mark, taking into account the depreciation of the value of the other player.

Ajax did not register the Zimbabwe international for the new season because if they had done so, and played him against Lamontville Golden Arrows last Saturday, they would have foregone one of the five berths clubs are allowed per season for foreign players.
Billiat was due to begin the last year of his contract at Ajax.

Sundowns, however, now have a dilemma about the number of foreigners in their squad for the coming season.
Billiat is reported to have signed a four year deal with the Brazilians who have already taken on board Cuthbert Malajila.

The former Aces Youth Academy player’s move looked imminent after the club left him out of their players for the 2013/2014 season.
Reports from South Africa last night cited Ajax confirming his sale to their rivals.

Ajax Cape Town’s Ari Efstathiou told Metro FM that the deal is done, with the Urban Warriors receiving cash plus Eleazar Rodgers.
“We did everything we could to keep him, but the reality of the situation is Khama made up his mind,” he said.

Billiat was linked to Orlando Pirates, SuperSport United, as well as Kaizer Chiefs during the off season
