THE fourth edition of the annual Willard Katsande Under-18 Soccer Tournament kicks off this morning in Mutare with several provinces taking part in the two-day event. Katsande, the senior national team captain, sponsors the tournament. This year he has involved teams from outside Manicaland. The tournament is expected to be graced by NAFZ president Philip Chiyangwa, PHD Ministries leader Walter Magaya, Kaizer Chiefs coach Steve Khompela as well as several other football personalities.

According to the tournament coordinator Blessing Panganai, everything was is in place for this year’s edition of the tournament. “Katsande met the teams yesterday and held a Press conference to highlight the rules and regulations for the tournament. “Two teams which will reach the finals to be staged in Sakubva tomorrow will get free kit.

“Eight grounds have been selected for the preliminary rounds slated for today and they will proceed to Sakubva or quarter finals.”
