FORMER Warriors skipper Willard Katsande is not concerned about the prospect of playing for the national team without the armband on his return to the fold ahead of the African Cup of Nations qualifier away to Liberia in Monrovia next weekend.

Coach Sunday Chidzambwa’s men travel to Liberia knowing that if they avoid defeat at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Stadium on November 18, they will book their place at the finals.

Katsande is set to return for the first time to the senior side after leading them at the 2017 finals in Gabon where he was captain under Callisto Pasuwa. The Kaizer Chiefs vice captain announced his retirement from international football after the tournament, but later made a U-turn and Chidzambwa has included the 31-year-old midfielder in his squad.

Knowledge Musona is, however, the Warriors captain, with Ovidy Karuru deputising the Anderlecht man.
Katsande said his main focus is on helping the Warriors cross the line and seal their Nations Cup qualification.
