Junior chamber regional meeting opens

The JCI Africa and Middle East Development Council meeting involves training courses and growth and development workshops under the theme “Humanity Security”. JCI Zimbabwe national president Mr Patson Mahatchi said the first two days of the meeting would see JCI national and local boards going through two internationally accredited courses, which will capacitate them to effectively discharge their duties.

“We will conduct these courses to help our local and national organisations to align their activities towards accomplishing the JCI mission of providing development opportunities that empower young people to create positive change.

“This will help us build and manage attractive and responsive organisations for members looking for the development opportunities to create positive change as active citizens,” said Mr Mahatchi.

Economic Planning and Investment Promotion Minister Tapiwa Mashakada is the guest of honour. The meeting opens up to the business community and other JCI members on Sunday and Monday where training on corporate social responsibility and networking will be offered to JCI members and anyone interested. JCI Zimbabwe national public relations director Mr Lloyd Ngwenya said the organisation’s corporate social responsibility course is a half-day course designed to create awareness on the responsibility of individuals and corporate organisations to their communities and the environment. JCI Zimbabwe is part of a membership-based worldwide organisation of active young citizens under the age of 40.-The Herald
