JOHANNESBURG. — Mpumalanga Black Aces coach Clive Barker says if given a choice to choose between Argentina superstar Lionel Messi and Tendai Ndoro, he will go for the Zimbabwe international striker.
Aces have slammed reports claiming Ndoro is set to leave the team, saying the “irresponsible media utterances are unsettling for both the player and the club”.
According to a statement on Aces’ official website, “some media have started gossiping on an imminent move purported around a swap deal with an Orlando Pirates player”.

AmaZayoni coach Barker, however, is adamant the Zimbabwean is staying put.
“If I had to choose between Lionel Messi and Tendai Ndoro, I would back my player as he is set for bigger recognition,” Barker said.

“Tendai is staying with us and I have made that clear to the directors and the player. I have asked him to focus on his stay at Aces and he knows how much I value him. He is a terrific player who has all the attributes to do really well in his career.

“What I really like about him is that he is very grounded, a really nice guy and he works hard.”
Meanwhile, Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Willard Katsande has stressed the club’s desire to win the Absa Premiership Q-Innovation first quarter which carries a R1,5 million pot in prize money.

Chiefs have taken all points available in their opening five games and look certain to finish top of the first quarter despite there being another three rounds of matches to be played — starting off with University of Pretoria at FNB Stadium tomorrow afternoon.

Just how significant is the Q-Innovation when factored with the ultimate target of winning the League.
“I think these quarter innovations are good for every team because if you target to win two quarters it means your chances of winning the league are higher. So I think for us we need to win this quarter and then aim for the second one so as to enhance our challenge for the league,” says Katsande.

The Zimbabwean hardman adds that they don’t only need to continue with their perfect start to the season by winning against TUKS but they also have the Q-Innovation in mind.

A win tomorrow will leave Amakhosi — who have won most of the Q-Innovations since they were introduced two years ago — with one hand on sealing the first quarter reward.

“It is very important because we are playing to win this first quarter so we need the maximum points (against TUKS).
At the same time those maximum points will help us move on the log standings. It will be a tough game against TUKS because we have played them several times and they always give us a problem. The coach has told us about the need to be focused and trying to listen to his game plan so that we can get all the three points,” he says. — KickOff
