THE 2018 Mr and Ms Zimbabwe bodybuilding championships scheduled for this Saturday at Jubilee Hall at Sharon School in Milton Park is expected to be a full house with several top athletes confirming their availability.

Athletes who have shown interest to participate include several title aspirants such the reigning Mr Zimbabwe Ndumiso Dlodlo. Quiet Shangai the association’s spokesperson said several athletes have indicated that they would grace the premier bodybuilding contest.

“Some of the top athletes expected to take part include Marvelous Ganda, the 2018 Bulawayo Men’s Physique champion,  Kylie MacDonald 2018 Novice Champion, Ndumiso Dlodlo, reigning, defending and undisputed Zimbabwe senior men bodybuilding champion, Blessing Samaringa, former Zimbabwe national middleweight and lightweight champion, Blessing Nyapimbi the current Manicaland champion, current Harare bodybuilding champion Partson Chatedzuka, former national middleweight champion Zumailer Eusen Mamman among several others.

“Women contestants to watch includes Juliet Chimbadzo who is 2018 Arnold Classic medalist and Wendy Du Cladier de Curac the current National Bikini fitness champion among a host of others,” said Shangai. There will be 14 divisions and two overall titles to be won and they include 75kgs, senior men bodybuilding, 85kgs, senior men, over 85kgs and junior men. Shangai said they had set registration of athletes to start on September 28 at Perspectives in the capital.

“The 2018 registration for the Mr and Ms Zimbabwe will start on September 28 at Perspectives number 69 Speke Avenue, between 1000hrs and 1600hrs and will continue at Jubilee Hall between 0730hrs and 0900hrs.  “Registration is $20.00. An athlete must be paid up for 2018. Annual registration is $10.00. Those who have not yet paid the Annual Sportsmen levy will have to pay at registration,” said Shangai.
