Nyathi, who has a good record both on the local and international scene, hailed Hifa organisers for bringing different ages of the performing artistes together.

He said the art fete had come of age, adding that it always created opportunities for both local and international artistes to showcase whatever talent they had.

“I have been attending Hifa for many years and this year I expect the event to be bigger and better than previous years.

“I think it is going to be one of the best. It’s good to see old school music being played before a youthful crowd who are still budding in the arts scene.

“They are going to learn a lot from the folks who are keen to show them a learning path,” he said.
The Bulawayo-based poet will perform on Saturday together with his fellow home mates the Kwela boys who gave a good performance while backing the Mbare Jazz outfit and the Cool Crooners on Tuesday.

He said bringing the Kwela Boys to Hifa this year was one of the best initiatives he had ever undertaken during the Hifa period.

“I played a hand in bringing down the Kwela Boys to grace Hifa and they are going to give their best performance as well as giving an international touch.
“We are going to see real old school music and dance rocking this year’s festival,” he said.
