ZIFA Northern Region Division One side Herentals are threatening to boycott their fixture against Black Rhinos scheduled for One Commando.

Herentals claim their safety isn’t guaranteed after there were problems when they met Rhinos’ sister club, Cranborne Bullets, at Old Hararians.

“We are not comfortable to go there as the two sides’ relationship is not good,” said Herentals team manager, Oliver Chirenga.

Rhinos are leading the Northern Region Division One standings on 47 points while Herentals are in fourth place on 32 points. “We are concerned with the risk that may come with our match against Black Rhinos once we visit them at One Commando,” said Chirenga. Black Rhinos organising secretary, Wellington Mabiginye, dismissed the claims.

“I don’t think that what they are saying holds water, we are security forces and never can we instigate violence in any way,” said Mabiginye.

“There is no way people can be attacked, especially in a barrack, because we are very disciplined.

“I don’t know where they are getting this, they played us at the National Sports Stadium and we beat them without any disturbances.

“They are the ones who clashed with our sister club Cranborne Bullets but sharing the same home ground doesn’t mean that we have any issues with them. “Football is for entertainment.”
