ARCHMORE Marajira scored his eighth goal of the season as ZIFA Northern Region Division One championship leaders Herentals thrashed Trojan Stars 6-0 at the National Sports Stadium on Saturday.Marajira grabbed a hat-trick, Denzel Chimwemwe grabbed a brace and Ronald Chisaya added the other in the rout.

The Herentals forward is now on eight goals and is trailing his brother Blessing, who is the ZIFA Nothern Region top-scorer on nine goals. The school boys are leading the 20-team league after 13 games and have a comfortable seven-point lead to second placed Blue Swallows.

Kumbirai Mutiwekuziva, the Herentals coach, believes they are laying the platform to challenge for the title. They responded to last week’s defeat in Karoi in emphatic style.

“I think the boys did well and the response came at the right time and we hope to continue collecting points. After last week’s defeat we really needed maximum points and we managed to do that.

“The team played well especially in the second half where we scored four goals,” said Mutiwekuziva.
