FUGITIVE Gweru murder suspect Peter Dube, who has been on the run for nearly three years following a frenzied gun attack that left two dead and two injured in 2021, was yesterday charged with two counts of murder and two of attempted murder when he appeared before Gweru provincial magistrate Ms Beaulity Dube.

He was not asked to plead and remanded in custody to April 17. Dube was also advised to apply for bail at the High Court.

Dube skipped the country in April 2021 after he allegedly shot his second wife, her suspected boyfriend, her sister and her friend following a domestic dispute.

The suspected boyfriend and his wife’s friend were killed and the wife and her sister sustained serious injuries.

Dube was deported from Ireland to Mozambique for breaching Irish immigration laws after misleading Irish authorities that he was Mozambican.

He was then deported to Zimbabwe after the Mozambican authorities established he was Zimbabwean. Dube was arrested at the Robert Mugabe International Airport on Wednesday.
