Government has commissioned 40 motorised graders worth millions of dollars aimed at improving and rehabilitating the national road network that had deteriorated due to the illegal economic sanctions imposed on the country.

The 40 graders, bought by the Zimbabwe National Road Administration from China under the Road Authorities Recapitalisation Programme, were the last from a batch of 80 such equipment with a combined worth of US$16 million.
The first batch of 40 graders were commissioned by President Mugabe in June this year.
Transport and Infrastructure Development Minister Obert Mpofu today said the illegal sanctions had not spared the country’s road network and the graders would go a long way in improving the roads to bring economic development to various provinces.
