In a striking show of this trend, the by-election in Gutu West saw ZANU PF candidate Cde John Paradza garnering 12 147 votes trailed by independent candidate Martin Mudzingwa who got 1 775votes. 

CCC candidate Ephraime Morudu only got a paltry 1 258 votes while NCA’s candidate Robson Kurwa had 138 votes.

This result not only underscores the waning support for CCC, but also points towards that party’s potential decline.
