GUNNERS were held to a goalless draw by Zatex in a Northern Region Division One league tie at Alaska Stadium yesterday. Coach Darlington Dodo’s men, who are the favourites to win the ticket into the Premiership after just coming short last year, could not get the goal they wanted to get maximum points.

While Gunners struggled for a breakthrough, Lake Harvest enjoyed a goal feast as they thrashed Seven Flames 3-0 in Kariba. Lake Harvest have former Soccer Star of the Year, Stewart Murisa, in their fold and have now picked four out of six points after losing their first two matches.

Ngezi Platinum will be hoping to find their winning formula when they clash against DStv Rangers today at Old Hararians Sports Club. Ngezi were supposed to take on ZRP Morris last week at Baobab but the match was cancelled after their opponents did not bring their players’ licence.

Both teams are still waiting for the board to make a decision concerning the match but Ngezi are likely to be awarded the game. However, for the time being, they have today’s game to worry about and they will be out for a win after they drew 0-0 against Starbill at Gwanzura during their last visit to the capital.

Ngezi coach, Clifton Kadurira, said they are ready for today’s match and warned Dstv Rangers to expect a tough encounter.

Fixtures:

Today: Dstv Rangers v Ngezi (Old Hararians), Karoi United v Blue Swallows (Chikangwe), Darwin United v ZRP FC (Pfura stadium), ZRP Morris v Herentals (Morris).
