ZIMBABWE senior women’s cricket team player Tasmeen Granger continues to break new ground and showing other women and girls the opportunities that the game can give. First, she became the first Zimbabwe female cricketer to ply her trade abroad when she participated in the Atlanta Women’s Cricket Tournament for two years in a row.

Now, Granger has just landed herself a coaching job with the East Christchurch-Shirley Club in Christchurch, New Zealand. The talented all-rounder has signed a contract as a women’s section club coach. She will not only coach the women, but also play for the side.

Being in the coaching structure of the club will also enable Granger, who holds a Level 1 certificate, to further her coaching qualifications. Granger’s contract runs from October 1 this year to the end of March next year.

But she will be available for selection to the Zimbabwe squad for the ICC Women’s World Twenty20 Qualifier in Thailand this November. — ZimCricket
