THE Gabriel Real Estate team emerged as overall winners of the Zimbabwe October 5s bowls tournament after amassing 77 points at City Bowling Club yesterday. Cyclone Industrial team from Bulawayo settled for second place with 76 points, while the Davis team from Harare took third place after accumulating 75 points. Harare’s Gabriel Real Estate team was represented by Kerry Craven, Julie Barnes, Ally Dale, and Wayne Williams, Tom Craven and Heather Singleton.
Gabriel team skip Julie Barnes said their last match as a very tight encounter.

“It was a very tight competition, the Bulawayo side was good and they had the better aggregate than we had but we beat them in the last end and picked one point and we won it.
“We enjoyed all our games and we are glad we won all our games, it was good to see a lot of new faces and also the visiting team Thai team,” said Barnes.

The competition was a three-day event and featured 16 teams competing in the Fours, Trips, Pairs and Singles.
