. . . as Raffles honours customers

Tafadzwa Zimoyo : Fashion Talk 263

Phew . . . the months are continuing to pass by and fashion trends too are changing each day. One good thing about this country is the weather. Of late there are some changes happening, like the rains persisting. For the past two days the weather was amazing and with ladies I know you are happy trying out those fur or fake fur, boots and panthose among others. But the bottom line is looking good isn’t self-importance; it’s self-respect.

Getting dressed won’t need a second thought when you’ve got a wardrobe packed with stylish separates and off-duty staples.

The key with weekend fashion is to select comfortable clothing that can easily be dressed up or down.

That way, you can seamlessly go from a morning coffee date to running errands in the afternoon to going out to dinner in the evening.

Because weekends are for relaxing; the last thing you want to do is running around the house, trying to figure out what to wear.

From this season’s must-have (and ultra comfortable) flat shoe and the off-duty buys that are equally comfortable and stylish to the pretty dress that suits all body shapes, get inspired with our pick of the best style buys for the weekend.

So wherever you’re spending this weekend, be inspired.

Author Charles Hix, said avoid reaching for the same style staples every Saturday and Sunday.

Whether you’re seeing friends, family, or a special someone, the key to having a truly great time is in the outfit.

It turns out that fashion doesn’t always fly right over guy’s heads.

Whoever said only women enjoy fashion was incorrect.

I have met many men who pay attention to wardrobe as much as they note football scores.

With all this in mind, all roads lead to Raffles Fashion Show and Feel Good Promo today with a lot of lined up activities.

Good news! You too feel good by standing a chance of winning a complete attire with Raffles, if you carry this edition to the fashion show.

Readers and fashionistas will stand a chance to win shirts, jeans and other attires if you bring this copy.

Everything is happening at 64 Kwame Nkurumah Avenue starting 12 noon.

Yes Raffles, which has been known for catering for the elderly man now has a top of the range youthful designer brand wear from Paul Smith, Jack and Jones, Polo to Ted Baker.

What you have seen international celebrities donning is now in Zimbabwe and I must say we are continuing to move a step ahead when it comes to fashion.

In an interview one of the show organisers Nomiah Chirere said all is set for the fashion show and draw.

“The price giving is for the Christmas Feel Good Promotion and we are using the same platform to promote the Raffles Brand as of late many thought it is only for the elderly people but we are now catering for the youthful and stylish gents especially.

“We are going to showcase some of the latest brands in stock and we are working with reputable models. We will close down with great give-aways to the lucky customers and spot prizes to be won,” he said.

He said they are also unveiling a new clothing line that will be paraded with some of the top local models.

Chirere said the fashion show will run under the theme ‘Feel Good in Style’, with some of the top local musicians billed to perform.

He said was happy with how men are embracing fashion.

“Growing up we used to know and understand that fashion is about dresses but these days men too are embracing fashion. We are trying to rebrand our style, making sure we have those brands that you envy and see on television. Fashion is universal.

“We have engaged some of the fashion gurus to assist in this promotion hence our fashion show on Saturday (today) has been choerographed well. I can’t mention names because of the contracts but this is a milestone when it comes to corporate branding,” he said.

Asked what are some of the fashionable attires in stock, Chirere said just like food, what can be your desert can be my disaster.

“We have dressed some of the local celebrities during the red carpet events and some of the awards shows. We have a lot on offer but the tricky part is we can’t share with you because what you may not like is a favourite to some,” he said.

Anyway as we have partnered with them for the show, don’t forget to bring this edition for some give-aways.

Happy weekend and don’t forget fashion is alive and live with it.
