Arts studio Village Unhu is set to light up the local arts scene as it hosts a two-day exhibition from today at Alliance Française.
The exhibition, that is promising to be one of a kind, will see visual artists showcasing their art. “We are glad to feature works by Gareth Nyandoro, Wallen Mapondera, Shannon Murphy, Thandazani Dhlakama, James Jali, Moffat Takadiwa, Mattheus Nyaungwa, Misheck Masamvu and many others,” said a spokesperson for the exhibition.

The exhibition titled “100 Hundred” feature paintings, graphics and multimedia sculptures.

“100 Hundred’’ simply means 10 times 10, for the exhibition it simply means a hundred works for a hundred each.”

During the exhibition the Sowe Band will stage an incredible show that will see a fusion of musical traditions of Western and Southern Africa.

It is one not to be missed.

The Sowe outfit promises to perform enchanting music tapping into the rich traditions of these two distinct regions of the African continent.

Ngomas, mandobe, sabar, talking drums, doun douns, kora, mbira, balafone, marimba and guitars will be played.

Alliance Française de Harare is a hub for the arts in Zimbabwe, hosting a dynamic schedule of concerts, exhibitions, film screenings, theatre and other cultural events.

It is committed to supporting and organising programmes that help develop the local arts sector.

The Old Mutual Theatre provides a space to rehearse, perform, meet and exchange ideas for Zimbabwean artists and cultural organisations.
