Harare International Festival of the Arts is expected to add an extra buzz to the Sunshine City during its run from April 29 to May 4 2014.
The cultural and arts display will include some of Zimbabwe’s best acts as well as renowned acts from abroad. All the way from Rajasthan in India, the Moru Sapera Dance Party is going to showcase traditional Rajasthani folk dances at ZB Bank Reps Theatre.
The Moru Sapera Dance Party is presented by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations, New Delhi and The Embassy of India.

Rajasthan is home to some of India’s most popular folk dances an area known for its rich tapestry of traditional dances. This year, the Moru Sapera Dance Party is scheduled to display an exciting and culturally rich performance at HIFA. The dance group is named after two of the most famous Rajasthani dances, Moru and Sapera. The famous folk dances have origins with the unique Kalbelia, a ritualistic tribe of Rajasthan.

The popular folk dance group promises audiences an authentic look at the enthralling dance styles of Rajasthan. Dances of worship, snake dances, vivid costuming and frenetic drumming are all on show in this audio-visual spectacle.

This action packed dance performance will definitely be an eventful and extraordinary experience leaving audiences with a taste of Indian culture.
The Moru Sapera Dance Party is performing at HIFA on Stanbic Day, Thursday May 1, at 8.30 pm at ZB Bank Reps Theatre and also on Golden Pilsner Day, Friday May 2, at 10am at the same venue.
