Dynamos, Epoupa talks stall Christian Epoupa Ntouba

JUST when the Dynamos faithful had hoped to watch star forward Joel Christian Epoupa in action against Shabanie at Rufaro tomorrow, it has emerged talks between the team and the Cameroonian player’s handlers have stalled. Despite an agreement between the two parties being thrashed on Thursday, it is believed things changed again yesterday.

Dynamos owe Epoupa in excess of $16 000 in signing-on-fees and other allowances.
And the player has refused to play until they settle at least half of that amount.
On Thursday, both Dynamos president Kenny Mubaiwa and the player’s manager Gilbert Sengwe agreed to iron out the differences.

Another meeting was scheduled for yesterday, but it never took off with the Dynamos management telling Sengwe to meet them today.
Sengwe said Epoupa will not play tomorrow unless something dramatic happens today.

“We were supposed to meet with the Dynamos executive to map the way forward today, (yesterday) but regrettably the meeting never took off.
“The Dynamos management have always been doing this and we always wait for them to update us. They told us that the meeting with the player will be held tomorrow (today) and we just stand by that.

“Epoupa is not going to play for Dynamos until they pay him. He has a family to feed back home and he has grown frustrated such that he is now very closer to moving away.
“He is training and if they give him his dues, then he will come and play, but as it stands he is out.

“We had hoped to iron out the differences once and for all at the meeting, which they had arranged, but they decided not to update us on any developments.
“We are expecting to meet them tomorrow (today). If nothing comes out, then we have to hear from them because our position is clear.

“They should pay him his dues or he will not turn up for them,” he said.
Sources said Dynamos did not have the money.
“The truth is there is no money at Dynamos to pay Epoupa,” the sources said.
Epoupa still has nine months on his contract with the former champions.
