The sizzling video features South Africa’s seasoned kwaito star Mandoza of the “Nkalakata” fame.
Popularly known to his legion of fans as Dj Stavo, his video simply titled “Mnandi” (So Good) is receiving heavy rotation on Channel O available on DStv bouquet.

Of interest is how Dj Stavo, perhaps our own version of Dj Khaled of the “We The Best” fame, managed to appeal to a crossover audience with his excellent delivery.

The three minute long video was shot in Johannesburg a few weeks ago and has become an instant hit with fans across Africa and judging by its popularity on social platforms such as Facebook, Dj Stavo could be angling for a Channel O Music Award this year.

And on YouTube, the video has made 1000 hits within the first week of its release indicating that its one of the most viewed local videos.
An elated Dj Stavo said he was happy with the video and that it brings together talents from Zimbabwe and South Africa.
“I am pleased with the response that is coming through since we launched the video. I would say it is a beautiful video which was well thought out and different from what we have been producing since we started out.

“The video is not only popular with Zimbabweans but also South Africans because Mandoza is pushing from his side,” Dj Stavo said.
He said he was working hard to have the video screened on other top music channels.
“At the moment we want to get the video on all the music channels in Africa including MTV Base and Trace. We are hoping everything will go on well and should be showing on the screens soon,” he said.

The excellent video includes a pool party and club scenes among other enticing shots.
Mandoza is on a comeback trail since he won the Most Gifted Kwaito Award at last year’s Channel O Music Video Awards for his collaboration with Ees on “Ayoba”.
The kwaito star has set his sights on winning big this year especially now that he worked with Dj Stavo.

It remains to be seen whether or not Dj Stavo will bag any awards this year for his video “Mnandi” (So Good) but one thing that is certain is that he has taken Zimbabwean music across the borders. Already his other collaboration with Roki and ExQ on the song “Sweet Love” has earned him the respect of hip-hop lovers.
