ZIFA Northern Region Division One have moved the start of their 2019 season by another week.

The league was supposed to commence this weekend with several matches lined up but they have since been moved to next week.

“We are writing advising you that the 2019 Northern Region Soccer League fixtures, which were supposed to commence on April 6 as earlier communicated, will now be starting on the April 13,’’ they stated.

All the other regions begin their seasons this weekend.

Meanwhile, after spending over a decade in the United Kingdom, Tawanda Musonza, has returned home and wants to make a name for himself with his newly-established Division Two Soccer League side Avondale Athletic Club.

Musonza returned home at the end of last year and quickly established a new team that is based at Alex Sports Club. They have since affiliated with Harare Province Division Two League for the 2019 season.

The team is under the guidance of Albert Mutakatara.

“I have come back home after being in the United Kingdom since 2007, when I went there as a 12-year-old and I managed to acquire some professional qualifications in Sports Management and Journalism. “The team is going to be part of Division Two this season and we are hopeful that we will gain promotion into Division One next year.

‘’There is competition I know but I will try and use the experience I gained during my stay in the UK to see the team compete.

“I think sports should be taken as a business and allow people to make a living out of it like what is happening in other countries,’’ said Musonza.
