CHAMPIONS Dynamos will be hoping that their forwards bring their shooting boots to Rufaro this afternoon if they are serious about knocking spirited leaders Harare City off their perch. It is a top-of-the-table Castle Lager Premiership showdown with so much at stake.
DeMbare team manager, Richard Chihoro, who is now doubling up as an assistant coach, says all they need is to convert their chances.
He believes on Sunday it was their Achilles Heel and had they been precise, in front of goal, it would have been different tale against Shabanie.

“We are looking forward to a win tomorrow (today). We missed a lot of chances on Sunday. We could have wrapped it in the first half,” said Chihoro.

“Our strikers should carry their shooting boots to Rufaro.
“We are playing against the log leaders and to be where they are it means they are playing well.”
He believes their experience of playing such a huge game could help them get the result that will see them knocking on City’s doors.
“We approach every game with an intention to win and pick points. We know in this game a victory will mean we go level on points with them,” said Chihoro.

“But that doesn’t give us pressure.
“We now have experience playing such games. We don’t necessarily fear them but we treat them just like any other team.”
The champions would have wished that a clash against Harare City should have come at a different time and not when they have just been booted out of the BancABC Sup8r Cup and their spirits have been deflated by the Devon Chafa saga.

The Sunshine Boys have found a way, since coming into the Premiership, to trouble the Glamour Boys and have only lost once to DeMbare.
The matches between these two clubs have been spiced by tension, intense rivalry and some superstitious beliefs.

But City coach Bigboy Mawiwi said this was just another ordinary game.
“We don’t have any pressure at all. We are just approaching this game like any other other game. And we are going to play to the best of our ability,” said Mawiwi.

The Sunshine Boys regrouped last week. They had been on break since their goalless draw against Tripple B in their last league match in Dulibadzimu.

Mawiwi, a former Dynamos player, said he didn’t want to say much before the game.
While the reverse fixture ended in a goalless draw, the former Gunners coach feels they should have won it.
“That game is now water under the bridge but we feel that was a genuine goal from Osborne Mukuradare.

“But we will face a new game. Our players are raring to go and will see what happens,” said Mawiwi.
The Sunshine Boys took defender David Kutyauripo and pacy forward, Martin Vengesayi, who were deemed excess baggage at DeMbare.
They have a lot of quality in Willard Kalongonda, Munyaradzi Kunyarimwe, the consistent and hardworking James Jam while Silas Songani is battling to make a full recovery ahead of the game.

Young midfielder Talent Chawapiwa has a hamstring strain but they still have the slippery Phineas Bamusi, who can be a match for any defence on his day.

One feels the pressure will be Dynamos and their forwards but the form of Russell Madamombe has given Callisto Pasuwa hope.
