1903: Cde Nicholas Goche is now addressing the conference saying people should not travel tonight but go back to the places they have been staying. This brings an end to the 14th Annual National People’s Conference.

1854: Cde Didymus Mutasa is now announcing the donations made to the conference as well as those for the President.

1846: The Provincial results: Bulawayo10th position, nine Matabeleland North, 8 Harare, 7 Midlands, 6 Mashonaland West, 5 Mashonaland East, 4 Masvingo, 3 Manicaland US$5 000, 2 Mashonaland Central US$ 10 000, Matabeleland South gets the winner’s US$15 000 prize money for the best province in 2013.

1839: Cde Webster Shamu is now on the podium and says prizes amounts US$30 000 for the provincial competitions.

1832: National chairman, Simon Khaya Moyo is now addressing the gathering. He says the President’s closing remarks were very educative.

1827: Go back tell the people that we think of them, they are part of you, we saw them through you and through you we will meet them with action. He adds that tomorrow Eric Gwanzura will be remembered but that’s the way of life and urges unity ending his Closing Remarks.

1825: The President says if you are right, you are right. You believe Zimbabwe is your country, you believe it is a sovereign country. These are principles the people believe in and if you believe them then you are as strong as an oak.

1823: He says when he attends international conferences Western leaders leave and run away as if he has a contagious disease. Some countries are even afraid of inviting President Mugabe because the West asks if he is attending before they decide.

1821: He thanks the party members who attended the conference and the party’s victory in the harmonised elections. He promises that he will not the people down saying the party is united. He added that it’s the people’s party that has made those in Britain and America fear him.

1819: He says go back home and tell those who stayed behind the story of Chinhoyi. They will be translating the resolutions into vernacular languages so the people can know them. You came representing your province, now you go back strengthened so go back and strengthen the party. We want organic structures that stand in support of the party.

1816: He laments the distances that children walk to school and says some of the schools also need attention.

1815: President Mugabe says life can be made better for the people in rural areas, just a good house is not good enough. Growth Points should be developed so people can reach what they want.

1813: He says the girls and boys who spend three years doing nursing but we are retiring them before they have even reached the age at which they should retired.

1810: The President says those in the diaspora may have found the grass greener wherever they are but East, West, home is best.

1807: Zimbabwe has to move from developing to developed and take off from there but noone can do that for the country except the people themselves.

1806: He says now people want skills that will give them jobs and that’s what we must go for, yes, your resolutions speak on that and it’s part of Zim Asset.

1803: Technologies, yes, one country could have the fortune of evolving technology but other country’s can copy.

1802: The President lauds the Chinese industrial revolution of copying Japan’s advancements and improving them to suit their situation as well as other countries coming to get their products.

1758: Cultures exist, they interact actually, you borrow and adapt it to your situation, that is how the world has been.

1757: The President says No! let no other nation fool you because they are pink and you are dark. they think being pink makes them superior No! some of them are damn fools. He says Mandela once refused to meet George Bush saying Bush does not think.

1754: President Mugabe-Let Zimbabwe show the rest of the world that we are different. We don’t worship the white man, he might have brought the bible but we are interpreting the bible in relation to life here not that in Britain.

1753: President Mugabe-The new budget must tell a new story, those who work must get paid, not below the Poverty Datum Line but above. We cannot really be at peace with our hearts if we say our people must continue to work for nothing. A $100, $200 and we say they are able to manage their families..No! No!. Give us time and there shall be a reawakening.

1750: We can say we were born again on July 31 but the factories were  not. Life must come back to Bulawayo, life must comeback to the cities. “Find money Chinamasa, you cannot say we don’t have money. Where is our platinum going, where is our gold going?” The President asked.

1748: He says it’s time the people organised themselves into business entities. Food must be produced in plenty but people must not be too fat, some people are getting fat tummies, he says food must not kill you. The President says now the people of Zimbabwe can only say “Yes Baas” to themselves, people should work together and for each other.

1742: The President insinuates that the MDC formations are dead and buried.

1740: President Mugabe is now delivering his speech to close the conference. He says the conference venue is one of the best urging the leadership to maintain standards.

1730: The resolutions have since been adopted.

1730: On culture, Government to ensure artistes get value for their products. Cde Mnangagwa said conference commits to the full implementation of Zim Asset with a catch phrase; Zim Asset: Iwe neni tinebasa/Mina lawe silomsebenzi. He then concluded reading out resolutions.

1720: Resolutions-No civil servants will be paid salaries that are below the Poverty Datum Line. Rationalise the number of players in the diamond industry. Government to immediately incorporate small scale miners to curb illegal exportation of minerals. Government to prioritise operationalisation of New Zim Steel. Government to subsidise cancer treatment and include women and youths in economic activity. On sport, Government must be on the forefront of creating an interface between schools and professional clubs. To urge Government to introduce multiple sports especially in marginalised communities.

1714: Some of the resolutions include imposing stiffer penalties on cadres who promote factionalism. The party blames the West for sponsoring divisions within the party. Government to prioritise recapitalisation of Agri Bank under Zim Asset.

1710: Zanu-PF secretary for Legal Affairs Cde Emerson  Mnangagwa is now reading out the conference’s resolutions.

1603: Party committees are now reporting on their resolutions in a closed session. Some of the committees include State of the party, Food Security and Nutrition, Social Services and Poverty Eradication, Value Addition and Beneficiation.

1120:  As the President winds his speech, he declares the 2013-2014 tree planting officially launched.

1118: He says Zimbabweans must appreciate planting trees and conserving the environment.

1115: He says trees are an essential component of a water cycle. Most if not all major water sources have a source from forestry like mountains. The tree of the year is Ficus Ingens (Mutsamvi/Inkiwane) an indigenous tree he planted here.

1109:  He says the year 2013 was declared year of water and cooperation by the United Nations.

1100: Minister Chidarikire says the province cherishes President Mugabe’s wisdom in making sure people plant trees to preserve the environment.

1058: Speaking at the occasion right now Mashonaland West Provincial Affairs Minister Faber Chidarikire said while tobacco is important for growth of the economy, it posed serious threats to forestry as farmers use firewood for curing the crop. He said it is the province’s plan that every household plants a tree.

1055: President Mugabe has just planted a tree at Chinhoyi Municipality Park as part of the National Tree Planting Day. He named the tree Mukaka Muzhinji. First Lady Amai Grace Mugabe and Vice President Mujuru also planted trees as well as ministers.
