CUT Hotel continues to live up to its vision of becoming a beacon of excellence in hospitality and tourism training and service after it recently acquired another star making it a two star hotel following a rigorous grading exercise on standards by the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority.
This impetus has undoubtedly given the hotel a competitive edge as a brand to reckon with on the national hospitality landscape and has flown the Chinhoyi University of Technology flag even higher.

Since its opening in November 1, 2007, the hotel has made its mark in bridging the gap between theory and practice in the hospitality sector.

Falling under the School of Hospitality and Tourism at Chinhoyi University of Technology, CUT Hotel provides a live laboratory for practical skills enhancement with its state-of-the-art restaurants and kitchens, conference rooms and exclusive accommodation.

Under the stewardship of a Board of Trustees headed by the benevolent Professor David Jambgwa Simbi and a young energetic management team, CUT Hotel has grown from strength to strength with a thrust of continuous product improvement.

Mr Innocent Manyera, the hotel’s general manager underscored the importance of a sound human capital base in delivering quality and excellent service for guests.

“Continuous formulation, implementation and evaluation of people strategies have enabled the hotel to maintain skills enriched core staff which is able to work as a team hence the recognition as a facility befitting two star status,” he said.

The Dean of the School of Hospitality and Tourism, Dr Sebastian Vengesayi, equipped with vast experience in the tourism and hospitality industry both in academia and hotel operations, has been pivotal in ensuring smooth integration of hotel and academic activities in order to fulfil the mandate of training and service.

The fusion of training students and hotel service to guests is best achieved by thriving for a spotless reputation and being adaptable to the dynamic environment.

“We strive to shape our facilities and service through use of modern technologies, while preserving our rich cultural heritage of Zimbabwean hospitality to delight our stakeholders hence creating long-term value relationships.

“As such, this prestigious achievement presents a challenge to uphold and excel in service delivery as we head for another star upgrade in the near future,” CUT Hotel Marketing Executive Zororo Marangwanda said.

CUT Hotel comes as a one stop shop with ensuite rooms enjoying magnificent views, a massive conference facility, elegant bars and restaurants, a fast food outlet, business centre and beauty parlour.
