PowerTel Communications recently received the top Customer Service Excellence award for being the most customer focused organisation in the Parastatals and Utilities Sector for 2013.
The company received the award at a ceremony organised by the Contact Centre Association of Zimbabwe in Harare early this month.
PowerTel also walked away with the first runner-up award for the most customer-focused organisation-ISP and IAP sector.

In a statement, the company said it was humbled by such an achievement in a highly competitive market.
“PoweTel Communications is humbled to have been accorded these two awards as they come in the midst of stiff competition in a very competitive market, where the only factor for distinction hinges on the customer service experience.

“It therefore delights us to note that we are on the right track of delivering on our vision and mission statements which are premised on delighting the customer through the provision of world-class ICT connectivity products and services,” read the statement.

The company added that their recent recognition comes on the back of a shift in their strategic thrust from serving the corporate market to be more “mass market” consumer oriented.

PowerTel also became the first company to launch real 3G in 2007 after realising the need to diversify consumer-oriented products.
The CCAZ awards are held annually to honour outstanding organisations in various categories of customer service excellence.
