ZIMBABWE international defender Costa Nhamoinesu continued to rub shoulders with some of the best players in European football last night as he featured for Sparta Prague in their Europa League tie against Napoli at the Stadio San Paolo in Naples last night.
Nhamoinesu was thrown into the starting XI of the Sparta Prague team, playing on the left side of the defence, in a 4-5-1 formation used by the visitors in this tough assignment.

After a steady start, in which they took the lead after just 14 minutes, when Josef Husbauer fired home powerfully from 25 yards, Sparta Prague began to fade away as Napoli grew in confidence and started picking holes in the visitors’s defence.

After 23 minutes, the hosts were finally rewarded for their period of dominance when Nhamoinesu was adjudged to have handled inside the box and Gonzalo Higuain, who missed a great chance to possibly win the World Cup for Argentina in Brazil in the final against Germany, cooly converted. Napoli continued to grow in confidence, after the goal, and Costa and his defensive teammates struggled to contain the hosts who were attacking in numbers.
