Constitution, Elections top Politburo Agenda

decision making body outside congress meeting.

“We will be meeting tomorrow (today) and will obviously get a brief on the constitution on what has been agreed.

“I am also certain that issues to do with elections will also be discussed because its now time that we get down to serious business on that one,” he said.

Principals in the unity Government last Thursday resolved the disputed areas that had stalled the completion of the new constitution.

The differences arose after the production of the draft constitution in July last year that was rejected by Zanu PF arguing the contents where not in tandem with views gathered during the outreach programme.

A cabinet committee set up to resolve the issue also hit a deadlock prompting the principals to intervene and conclude the process.

The completion of the new constitution will also provide an indication of when the harmonised elections will be held.

The Politburo also met on Friday last week to deliberate on the hero status and burial arrangements of the late Vice President John Landa Nkomo who succumbed to cancer at St Annes Hospitals.

The late VP Nkomo was buried at the National Heroes Acre on Monday.
