Added to the razzmatazz of the fun day will be prizes up for grabs for lucky winners as Chicken Slice, the organisers of the “funival”, launch their “Kid Slicer”, a sumptuous food pack meant for children.

The free family show will also see parents enjoying food, music and dance in the lush green environs with their children.
Some of the activities lined up for the day include a swimming gala, Hannah Montana jumping castles, Ben 10 jumping castle, clown, face painting and balloon art, dramas, dance and poetry.

A number of poets will battle it out for top honours at the “Chicken Slice Funival” while some of the popular dance groups will be among the entertainment line-up.
The main stage promises some electric moments when Sniper Storm aka The General and Xtra Large perform.

Sniper, whose real name is Donald Chirisa, is a favourite of many youths since the release of his new album titled “Dongfang” that features the hit single “Wainira Musoja” and “Mangoma Aya”.

Both songs have received heavy rotation on the airwaves especially on Star FM’s All Star Party Show hosted by Godfather Templeman.
With a Nama award under his belt, “The General” has proved to be a force in dancehall music although some of his lyrics are pure fiction. For instance, “Wainira Musoja” talks about a gunman who after getting his salary dashes off to a nightclub where he spends all his money like there was no tomorrow.

Other songs on the album “Dongfang” include “Sungura”, “Voodoo” from the Jamaican “Voodoo Riddim”, “Manumber” where he brags about his previous hit singles. “Bhadhara” has also proved to be a favourite with many as he sings about a person demanding payment after completing his job.

Popularly known in music circles as “Maroja”, Xtra Large are one of the pioneers of the urban grooves genre who burst on the scene with their debut album titled “Maroja”. The album was a success and besides their swag the two also know how to deliver on stage. The duo of Norman Manwere aka Likkle N and Jimmy Mangezi Snagga Jim has mesmerised fans in a number of shows through their humour.

Bernadette Mutoko, procurement and marketing manager of Packers International, the company that runs Chicken Slice, urged music lovers to come early for the “funival”.
She said there were lots of giveaway prizes for children including posters, caps and T-shirts.

“On this day there is going to be lots of fun and the launch of Kid Slicer, a favourite menu that caters for children in a new pack. But to cap it all we are going to be hosting children to a day of fun and games as well as music starting as early as 9am,” she said.
