CHICKEN INN are seeking to boost their squad during the transfer window in preparation for the gruelling second half of the season.

The Gamecocks are also anticipating to lose a few players following some enquires from outside clubs.

The club have, therefore, set in motion a plan to recall their players on loan as well as add extra new faces.

Already, they have parted ways with goalkeeper Elvis Chipezeze, who has left for South African Premiership side Baroka after signing a contract early this year.

The club have also moved in swiftly to replace the veteran goalie and are believed to be close to signing former Black Rhinos goalkeeper Samuel Mafukidze.

Mafukidze was playing for Yadah Stars during the first half of the season.

Chicken Inn have also signed Bulawayo Chiefs defender Last Sithole.

And they are likely to raid the newboys further amid indications they are interested in young striker Farawo Matare and midfielder Perfect Chikwende.

Yesterday, club official Tawengwa Hara confirmed some activity on the market.

“As you know, we are the highest selling team in the country, so we are likely to lose some players during the window,’’ said Hara.

“We have lost Elvis and our second-choice (goal keeper) Pride Zendera will now be our first-choice, then we will promote another keeper from our juniors.

“We might lose Devine Lunga, we are negotiating with Golden Arrows.

“There are also two other clubs from South Africa that are interested in him, but they haven’t written to us officially, so we can’t talk about those offers.

“But we would love him to go to a team where he is guaranteed game time and we believe Arrows is such a club.

“King Nasama is wanted by Singida, they made some enquires, while we might also lose Innocent Muchaneka.

“Should these players go then, there is need for us to add some players.’’

The Gamecocks will recall midfielder Joe Nyabinde, who was on loan at Shabanie, Tinashe Mutimukulu, who was at Tsholotsho, as well as Chapungu’s Blessing Sibanda.

“We are re-launching our campaign, we are far off and normally in the second half we fill in our Under-20 quota as this is the time they will play.

“We haven’t made decisions on which players we will offload as yet. We will see which of our prospects will secure contracts elsewhere,” said Hara.
