CAPS United are keen to make a big impression in the domestic Premiership this season and believe they will fight for honours. Makepekepe will get their pre-season training underway in the coming week. Club vice president Nhamo Tutisani, who is handling the club affairs as his boss Farai Jere concentrates on his role as PSL chairman, said they have been busy during the pre-season.

They acquired Gabriel Nyoni, Phineas Bhamusi, Blessing Sarupinda and renewed the contract of Ronald Chitiyo.
They also retained the core of their team.

“We have filled most of our slots and we are left with a few areas. The good thing is that we have retained most of our players,’’ he said. “We are happy with our demographic structure since we have a good mixture of young and experienced players. “So it’s not like we haven’t been doing anything. Pre-season preparations have since started and if you remember we announced some new players that we have signed. “We are still looking into the squad, obviously with guidance from the coaches. Medicals are taking place, so in terms of work we have been busy behind the scenes.’’ Makepekepe are also looking to beef up their management.

They are expected to announce a new chief executive next week who will replace Cuthbert Chitima ,who resigned early this month.
