RYAN Burls is set to take part in the Everest Premier League in Nepal after he was snapped up by the Kathmandu Kings XI for the upcoming franchise T20 cricket tournament.

Burl will join a host of other international cricketers in the fourth edition of the EPL that is due to run in Kathmandu from this Saturday to October 9.

“Looking forward to going to Nepal to play in the Everest Premier League for Kathmandu Kings XI,” said Burl on his Twitter. Burl was part of the Zimbabwe squad that was on tour of the United Kingdom and featured in the series against Ireland and Scotland.

The tour ended yesterday when Zimbabwe beat Scotland by six wickets in Edinburgh to claim the three-match T20I series 2-1.

He becomes the second Zimbabwean cricketer to participate in this year’s edition EPL tournament in after Sikandar Raza, who was recently signed by the Biratnagar Warriors

The Nepal-based T20 league was supposed to feature global stars like Chris Gayle and AB de Villiers but its clash of schedules with the lucrative Indian Premier League 2021, which resumed at the weekend, eliminated the possibility.
