Gospel music concerts held by Kirah Music in Bulawayo since April have been growing bigger and better as evidenced by the attendance and performances at the glittering Gospel Live Shows staged every fortnight in the city of kings.

Clarence Garura, who is the owner of Kira Music, said the upcoming concerts are going to feature quite a number of foreign artistes from Southern Africa and highlighted the weekend’s schedule.

“As a way of bringing families together and celebrating Africa Day, we decided to host a double show on Saturday at our usual venue which is The Rainbow elite 400 here in Bulawayo,” he said.

“The first show will run from 10am to 4:30pm and will feature instrument playing groups.

“Some of the artistes for this show include Dumi Nyongola, United Voices Of Praise from the AFM church, CLSG Choir from the Roman Catholic Church and new gospel songbird, TsiTsi, who will also take advantage of performing on this platform a week before the launch of her new album on May 30.

“The second show is an acapella concert, which will run from 6pm to 9pm on the same day and it will feature quite a number of groups including Shalom Adonai, Conquerors, Devine Mercies, Advent Vocals, Family Voice, Vantage and The Royal Elite among others.”

Garura added that the concert will also feature Priesthood, Creme Voices and the globe-trotting Kirah who is just fresh from the studio doing a collaboration with Zambian gospel artistes Seth and Suliwanji.

The Gospel Live Shows are still in their infancy as they started only a month ago, but already they have taken the city of Bulawayo by storm. The project could soon be one of the country’s main gospel concerts.
