In an effort to showcase his talent, rising author Tinashe Nyandoro has released his first book, “Ndakaitei” for free on social media. Using Facebook and WhatsApp as media for publishing his text, Nyandoro – who is also known as Siv Beats – has managed to reach an audience that has received the text positively.

In an interview, Nyandoro said he decided to release his first book for free because he wanted to create a name for himself.

“The reason behind my online free publication was to rate my work and to reach out to as many people as possible. I also saw online publication as the best platform to create a name for myself. I am thriving to become a well-known author as well as an actor who will earn a living out of it one day. My main goal is to attract as many readers as I can,” said Nyandoro.

“Ndakaitei” is about two university sweethearts who struggle to make ends meet after graduation, but nevertheless  decide to get married.

The two finally get jobs. However, the wife gets rapid promotions at things turn sour in their marriage.

“The story was inspired by the things that are happening within the family institutions. You find out that nowadays in most families, women are earning more than their husbands and this is perpetuating conflicts whereby women end up disrespecting their husbands. Forgiveness is another major element in the story as well teaching the people to persevere in whatever situation they come across,” said Nyandoro.

Although Nyandoro is an upcoming writer, he has already fallen victim to piracy.

“Piracy has been a major setback. I published my book for free as a trial version online but some people were downloading the book from Facebook and selling it. In the end, I will be the one on the losing side,” he said. Nyandoro is already working on his second book “Zambuko Renhamo”.

“So far I have only uploaded three chapters, but I will continue uploading up to Chapter 10 before I  start selling it,” said Nyandoro.
