BLACK Rhinos coach Jostein Mathuthu said his old love affair with his former club ZPC Kariba will count for nothing on Sunday when the two teams clash in a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match.
The Premiership have not yet confirmed the venue but it’s likely to be at Nyamhunga in Kariba and Mathuthu, who spent the last season at ZPC, is not fazed.

Mathuthu said the army outfit will not be looking for anything less than a win.

“I am not an emotional person, our encounter with them (ZPC Kariba) to me is just like any other game and against any other rival.

“There’s a bit of history, yes I cannot deny or ignore that, but I don’t believe in living in the past but rather focusing on the future.

“We are again not moved by the fact that the game might be played in their territory because we also once played them in our own backyard so we don’t really feel that will be at a disadvantage,” said Mathuthu.

The two teams played out a goalless draw in the first meeting at Rimuka early in the season.

“Wherever we are asked to play, we will comply and we are very comfortable be it at home or away.

“ZPC have been having a good run and are a strong team and in the top three on the log while we are in the bottom four but that is of no importance to us, our focus when we get on the pitch is to win and I am confident the boys will do exactly that on Sunday.

“Again we are doing well in the Cup matches but we won’t be banking on carrying that momentum because this is a league game and it’s very different from a Cup game.
