AS part of their efforts to open up opportunities for upcoming football players, BN Academy director Bhekimpilo Nyoni, left the country on Saturday with 10 youngsters for a five-day development camp at Football CV Academy in Stamford, United Kingdom.

The players will go through drills under the guidance of international coaches and will join several youngsters drawn from across the world.
The camp is targeting players between the age of 16 and 18 and started on Monday.
It will run until Friday.

“As a development camp, it’s meant to encourage the young players to understand the culture of turning professional,” said Nyoni.
“There will be scouts from top teams, thus creating opportunities for the boys.

“The players will be working with international coaches and will have a chance to impress some scouts.”
The development comes after BN Academy signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the UK-based Academy last year during one of their visits.

This saw Football CV Academy’s coach, Grant Brown, visiting the country for a week-long training clinic with BN Academy as part of an exchange programme in April.

During his visit, the British coach was impressed with the local talent and picked two outstanding players — Elson Mweha and Tinashe Chakuchichi — who are part of the team attending the development camp.

The two players had their expenses for the trip paid for while the other eight are catering for their expenses.

Taonashe Kondo (Harare), Wallin Mabhandi (Harare), Jordan Dott (Harare), Tapiwa Kachigamba (Harare), Kgomotso Ezaye (Seke), Elson Mweha (Guinea Fowl), Rufaro Mamvosha (Kutama), Munashe Chakuchichi (Lomagundi College), Bukhosi Moyo (Christian Brothers College), Nigel Mutsonziwa (Prince Edward).
