Black Rhinos Queens through to the Champions League COSAFA qualifier final

ZIMBABWE women’s football club champions Black Rhinos Queens are through to the final of the inaugural CAF Women’s Champions League COSAFA qualifier.

The army side beat Botswana champions Double Action 2-0 at King Zwelithini stadium in Durban, South Africa, this afternoon.

In the final, Black Rhinos Queens will meet the winner between Mamelodi Sundowns and Green Buffaloes who square off in another semi-final match this afternoon.

Mighty Warriors and Queens forward Rutendo Makore was again the player of the match. She has won the player of the match in the previous match that Queens won.

The Zimbabwean team beat Green Buffaloes 2-0 and TURA Magic 3-0 to proceed from their group.

They are now a game away and a victory away from making history and become the first team from the southern African region to qualify for the maiden women’s version of the CAF Champions League.

The tournament will be played later this year in Egypt. Eight teams from different regions qualify for the continental tournament.
