Zimbabwean reggae musician, Chief Harare Dread has released a track titled “Traffic Officer” entirely dedicated to the Zimbabwe Republic Police Traffic Section. In an interview with The Herald Entertainment, the artiste said the song was done to show gratitude to ZRP, especially the Traffic Section, for a job well done in reducing road accidents.

“I appreciate very much the role our Commissioner General Augustine Chihuri and his lieutenants who are doing well for our nation, especially on our roads.

“The musician said road users should not disregard the efforts being made daily by traffic officers to keep our roads safe, especially during the holidays when people travel more.

“We know that some people disregard and disrespect the law when traveling.

“For instance, almost everyday morning, we see commuter omnibus passengers complaining when a traffic officer stops the driver just because they are late for work or personal meetings” he said.

Chief Harare Dread, real name San Vinga, is quite popular amongst Radio Zimbabwe listeners as he has done a number of tracks that are receiving good airplay such as “Mhondoro yaMbuya Nehanda”, “Number 7”, “Child Abuse”, “Letter J” and “Parufu”’ which has been made the signature song for the popular funeral notice show “Zviziviso Zverufu”.

The musician has six albums to his name which include “Hupenyu”, “Letter J” and “Child Abuse” amongst others.
