ALLIANCE FRANÇAISE de Harare will hold its third open day entitled “Urban Grooves Fun in the Sun”, on Saturday. This year, the open day will be very different in that it will be more youth-oriented. Alliance will be a haven of entertainment as the hippest and hottest urban groove bands, dance groups and DJs in the country will entertain the visitors during the afternoon.

With a star studded line-up that includes MMT, Alvina, John Cole and DJ Storm to name a few, this is an event that you cannot afford to miss. As you take a break from all the dancing, you will be able to participate in a whole range of games and competitions. The winners of the competitions will win fabulous prizes.

Gamers and video games lovers will have an opportunity to play against each other on Fifa 2013 and other PlayStation 3 games. There will be lots of fun for children at the Kids Corner.

The Kids Corner will have fun activities that will be done by our specialist teachers in the kids department. The winners of these activities will win great prizes. On the other hand, Alliance Francaise teachers and staff will be giving visitors a tour of the premises and informing them about the classes and the entertainment facilities Alliance Francaise has to offer. A cash bar and food stands will be available, to keep you replenished and energised for all the activities during the day.

As an independent, not-for-profit language and cultural organisation since 1951, Alliance Française de Harare has heavily invested in the promotion of the arts in Zimbabwe. Alliance Francaise is not only a French teaching centre but also a hub for the arts in Harare. The professional yet intimate venue of the Old Mutual Theatre has an ongoing line-up of music, theatre and dance events.
