Arranging furniture is one of the daunting tasks at home, but it is an important chore that should regularly be considered.

The question many ask when about to do this task is: What is the best way to arrange it?

Not many people can afford a designer or decor stylist but it is the duty of the wife to take the lead when decorating the house.

Again when space comes at a premium, that question becomes even trickier to answer.  If you leave your furniture in the same position month after month, dust and debris can be collected under and behind it.

Enjoying a fresh, clean room can help even your regular room layout feel brighter and more welcoming.

There’s something to be said for the peace of mind a good deep clean can bring.

Top Home Improvement blogger and real estate writer, Holly Welles said rearranging your furniture can give your interior a fresh look without spending a dime.

Below are her expert tricks on how best you can rearrange your home:

Make More Room

The way you organise your furniture can make a big difference in how functional your space is.

If you are in a small apartment, for example, you will find that placing furniture closer to the wall rather than out in the middle of the room makes the space seem larger.

Move pieces around in different combinations until you find the one that is functional but space saving.

Think about the way foot traffic flows through your home, and rearrange your furniture accordingly.

Take Advantage of Seasonal Lighting

As the seasons change, the way the light shines into your home may change as well.

Having your television stand across from the window may not work if there is suddenly a glare at the time of day you are trying to relax and watch your favorite show.

You might also want to move a breakfast table closer to a window to take advantage of waning natural light.

Declutter by Removing Old Pieces

Another reason to rearrange your furniture is to see what pieces need to go.

The longer you live in an apartment or home, the more stuff you will collect.

The coffee table you could not live without might suddenly take over your entire living room.

Take a close look at the different pieces of furniture you own, and figure out if you can sell or donate any to make more space in your home.

Make Room for Something New

Once you purge items you have little use for, you can refresh your home with a fun new piece or two.

Have you always wanted a gossip bench and finally found the perfect one?

Any time you buy a new piece of furniture is a good time to figure out what you want to keep and what needs to go.

Your room layout can only accommodate so much furniture, after all.

Protect Your Floors

Heavy pieces of furniture can leave permanent marks on floors.

Even if you have carpet, heavy furniture can leave dents.

If you rearrange your furniture regularly, you reduce the flaws and divets caused by it.

Of course, you will also want to take advantage of moving the furniture to put protectors on the legs of it and minimize further damage.
