CORPORATE Social Responsibility (CSR) Network Zimbabwe has launched its national CSR guide which is set to assist companies to get a better understanding of the CSR landscape in Zimbabwe and beyond.

Speaking during commemorations of the World CSR day in Mutare last week, Manicaland CRS Network Zimbabwe patron Mr Tendai Chitowa said the CSR landscape in Zimbabwe has been changing rapidly, which had prompted them to come up with the manual.

He said the guide does not only give an overview of the most relevant policy developments, but aims to be a practical guide. It provides business with information on how to make the business practices more responsible, successful and sustainable whether a small business or a large multinational.

“This guide is intended as a practical tool for business in Zimbabwe. It can be used as a primer on CSR and is intended for small and medium enterprises as well as large corporations in all industries and provinces.

“It also contains information on how to assess the effect of business activities on stakeholders, develop and implement a CSR strategy and commitments and measure, evaluate and report on performance and stakeholders’ engagement,” said Mr Chitowa.
He added that companies which operate in communities were expected to contribute to the well being of communities.
