THREE local BMX riders will take part in the 2016 World BMX Championships to be held in Medellin, Colombia, from May 25 to 29. The three riders – Rebekar Olbohozor, Penias Tenthani and Benjamin Olbohozor – will be joined by Jarod Ellse, Sean Drysdale and Luka Drysdale. The Drysdale duo will participate under the Ireland flag and Ellse will be under the South African one despite them making a single team.

Tenthani (19) will participate in the senior category and said he is happy to be part of this year’s tournament. He is an elite class rider and will lead the team.

“I am grateful that we got sponsorship, but it is not enough and I thank Meikles Africa Group for their support as they have been helping me a lot,” he said.

“With the much needed support we have good riders who exceed 40 in Harare only.

“I have been working hard since the injury to Scott Donaldson and I hope I will score enough points.”
