The Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA) is set to host the second edition of the Zimbabwe Tourism Investment Forum (ZTIF), scheduled to take place on 13th October 2023.

The forum will be held during the second day of the Sanganai/Hlanganani — World Tourism Expo at Holiday Inn, Bulawayo. This year’s theme, “Tourism Investment — Re-imagining Sustainable Partnerships,” is inspired by the impressive growth and success of the tourism sector in the first half of the year.

Zimbabwe Tourism Authority shared its enthusiasm, stating, “We are holding this forum on the backdrop of a successful first half of the year in terms of investment into the tourism sector. We saw a glorious growth of over 90 percent compared to the same period last year.

“It is our hope that with this kind of platform, we will be able to pave the way for more high-level projects that will further increase the total quantum of investment into the sector. This, in turn, will play a critical role in attaining our ambitious goal of a five billion dollar tourism economy by 2025.”

The ZTIF provides an invaluable platform for project promoters, investors, financiers, operators, local authorities, consultants, suppliers, policy makers, and developers to connect, network, and foster sustainable partnerships for tourism development in Zimbabwe.

Building upon the previous edition’s success, this year’s forum will witness the launch of the Tourism Investment Platform, a collaborative effort between the Zimbabwe Investment Development Agency (ZIDA) and ZTA.

“This platform aims to streamline business processes and facilitate ease of doing business in the tourism sector.”

“Revolving around the theme of sustainable partnerships, the forum will feature engaging discussions led by esteemed local and international professionals. Key sessions to anticipate include investing in Tourism and Alternative Tourism Opportunities in Zimbabwe, Tourism Facilitation and Development, Investor Testimonials and Perspectives, as well as Tourism Infrastructure and Financial Engineering.”

“For project promoters seeking funding or partnerships, we encourage you to register your projects on the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority’s database. There is an array of enthusiastic investors actively seeking projects to fund or partner with.”

To secure participation in this highly anticipated event, delegates are required to pay an investment fee of USD 300 per person, or equivalent to the prevailing bank rate. Additionally, the ZTA is pleased to offer sponsorship opportunities to interested parties.

“We extend a warm invitation to join us at the Zimbabwe Tourism Investment Forum, where we will collectively reimagine sustainable partnerships within the tourism sector,” concluded the representative.
