PREMIERSHIP side ZPC Kariba are mooting plans to beef-up their squad ahead of the start of the start of the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League.

The team’s coach Godfrey Tamirepi felt his side needed reinforcements after failing to progress to the quarter-finals of the Chibuku Super Cup.

The Kariba side have been blunt in front of goal after finding the back of the nets only five times in 10 games. Tamirepi said they aim to invade the market, mostly for the strikers.

“We have not been scoring goals so that’s an area of concern. We really need to intensify our work before the league gets underway.

“Without reservations, we need to reinforce the team. We have been creating a lot of chances during this tournament and we have to go on the market to look for finishers,” said Tamirepi.

The Kariba also side look to add a few defenders to balance the equation.

“We also need a few defenders to beef up our backline. We have been conceding some own-goals which means the quality we have is a bit questionable because when one scores an own goal it’s all about positional discipline.

“People are losing concentration; they lose their positions. So we really need to go on the market and reinforce the team with a few defenders and some attackers who are really clinical in terms of finishing.”
