THE Zimbabwe National Army will host their annual fundraising charity horse race at Borrowdale Park this Saturday with ten runners nominated for the 1 800 metres race.

Simona will headline the line-up and so is Heir Line, Roman Discent, Lava Flow, Knuckleball among several others.

The uniformed forces are looking forward to raise above $500 000 through the race meeting.

Speaking at the official launch of the charity horse race army public relations officer Alfios Makotore said the funds will go a long way towards assisting various charities across the country.

“The Commander ZNA Charities Horse Race, will be held this weekend at the Borrowdale Race Course and this marks the final event on the ZNA Charities fundraising calendar.

“The ZNA Charities Fund, was established in 1997 to alleviate the plight of the underprivileged members of the organisation and their dependants.

“The ZNA Charities has transformed lives and put smiles on several faces that have realised their dreams.

“The five charities that fall under the ambit of the Commander ZNA’s Charities Fund are Tsanga Lodge Rehabilitation Centre, ZNA Widows and Orphans Benevolent Fund, ZNA Schools Welfare Trust, Army Patients Welfare Fund and ZNA Benevolent Fund,” said Makotore.
