THE National Federation of Zimbabwe Body-building and Fitness will on Saturday host the annual PPC Zimbabwe Trade Fair Bodybuilding and Physique men’s category in Bulawayo.

Secretary-general, Quiet Shangai, says they have now moved with times after they divided the two categories. For many years, the ZITF senior men body-building only constituted men up to 75 kilogrammes, but after the revision there is now a category for over 75kg.

Men’s physique was up to, and including 176 centimetres, and another category was included of over 176 centimetres and prizes worth $12 000 are to be won.

“For the first time in the history of ZITF Open, senior men body-building will be divided into two divisions.

“We introduced the new division because we want to have a competitive tournament this time around.

“ZITF is like the FA Cup. You won’t be referred to as a National Champion, but, definitely you will be remembered as a great athlete after winning,” he said.

Shangai said he was impressed by the response he received from the athletes who have registered.

“I am very happy with the athletes’ response. Eighty athletes are expected to participate and many have confirmed from all the 10 provinces.”
