ZimPraise Choir is set to hold a two day conference dubbed “Youth Explosive Nights” at the Harare International Conference Centre as part of the forthcoming ZimPraise International Gospel and Music Festival to be held from September 5 to 9.

The conference will be running under the theme “Set Us On Fire” and admission is free of charge.

ZimPraise chief executive officer Joseph Madziyire said the explosive nights are specifically meant for all young people that love music and enjoy staying in the presence of God.

“The programme was inspired by the fact that a lot of youths are getting lost and they are into smoking and alcohol abuse of which this can be avoided. We are saying it is possible to be Holy Ghost filled, at the same time enjoy yourself in the presence of God without doing harm to your body, soul and spirit.

“Admission is free it’s meant for everybody and people should come wearing their dancing shoes and various artistes will be performing,” said Madziyire. Madziyire said on the same dates and at the same venue they will conduct free praise and worship workshops during the day that will be conducted by some music gurus.

“On the 5th and 6th we have praise and worship that is for free. We are inviting different praise and worshippers to come and have a workshop with renowned musicians like Nthokozo Mbambo, Zaza from South Africa. They will be helping our local praise and worshippers and their leaders with all components needed to come up with quality music. The invitation is also open to all our local gospel musicians,” he said

Official opening of the festival will take place on the 7th at the National Sports Stadium with a number of activities lined up like business seminars, the live DVD recording and motivational teachings from renowned men of God.

“We shall have a business summit led by Bishop TD Jakes on the 8th and it’s meant for all established and aspiring entrepreneurs. He will be sharing his expertise in global business and also in leadership.

“Our closing act of the festival will be our Season 10 live DVD recording,” he said. . The ZimPraise choir rose to stardom in 2013 with their hit song “Sungano”.

ZimPraise launched their Season 9 Pentecost Live DVD in February though recorded in October last year which featured South Africa’s Joyous Celebration co-founder, Jabu Hlongwane, and Sipho Makhabane. The popular interdenominational gospel outfit has toured countries like Canada, United Kingdom, Dubai and United States
