About 13 000 gospel music lovers thronged the Glamis Arena over the weekend for the ZimPraise Choir live DVD recording.
This was the choir’s seventh DVD recording titled “Revelation – It’s still all about Jesus” where several other groups took part in spectacular fashion. Previously, the choir pulled a capacity crowd of 5000 fans at a live DVD recording held at the Harare International Conference Centre.

Donna Chibaya from the Beam of Hope Church, Lindiwe Tshabalala and Prosper Mateva, all based in South Africa featured as guest artistes while local acts such as CCAP Voice of Mbare,

Amos Mahendere, Saiwe Chimbetu and Flem B, all gave spirited performances.

Flem B thrilled fans with his popular hits “Handidzokere Kumba” and “Ndichamutambira” and performed with the popular dance group Ses’fikile.

The host ZimPraise Choir,  clad in African print attires opened their act with the theme song “It’s all about Jesus”.

It was followed by a worship song “Ndoimba Mbiri” and “Ariko Munyaradzi”.

Energy was high on and off stage when the choir’s conductor took to the microphone. The crowd went into a frenzy as he rocked the microphone like there was no tomorrow.

Two popular apostolic songs “Kunyengetera” and “Weminana” remixed kept the audience on their feet as they were led by some dancers who were in apostolic regalia.

Later on, Sebastian Magacha performed two songs “Makaponesa Mweya Wangu” and “Baba Ndokutendai” that left the audience begging for more.

The atmosphere changed as the man of worship, Takesure Zamah Ncube ushered fans into a time of serious worship with his worshiping song  “Kuchema Kwemoyo” that brought fans closer to God.

As he went through the verses of the song emotions engulfed the crowd making other  people to kneel down with tears streaming down their cheeks.

The choir also took the opportunity to launch the ZimPraise Kids who also performed  four songs including the hit song “Sungano”.

ZimPraise public relations officer Tendai Zhou said they were impressed by the turnout.

“We are happy that our event was a success.  We were overwhelmed by the turn-out and we appreciate all the support we got from  our fans. This time we recorded 33 songs which were received well and like always we cater for all age groups,” he said.
