ZIMBABWE international, Tendai Chisoro, is set to embark on another stint in the UK after signing for Kelso Cricket Club, for their 2022 East of Scotland Cricket Association campaign.

Two other Zimbabweans, Jonathan Campbell and Tony Munyonga, have also been unveiled by clubs in the UK, for the 2022 campaign.

Chisoro, who has had previous stints in the UK, will join the side for their next campaign after completing the domestic cricket season in Zimbabwe, with Southern Rocks. He has also been a standout performer abroad, with three UK league stints.  Chisoro enjoyed two stints with Midlands-based club Fordhouses (2015, 2017), hitting 1,238 runs at an average of 25.27, and taking 79 wickets, at 18.44.

The all-rounder then starred in the Surrey Championship for Epsom, belting 730 runs at 66.36, plus his usual complement of poles (37 wickets at 15.62).

The 33-year-old is a member of the Zimbabwe national team, with three Tests and 21 ODIs, under his belt.

He has also played 14 T20Is for Zimbabwe.

In his 21 ODI and 14 T20I matches, Chisoro boasts impressive bowling figures, with 24 wickets at 28.50, and 12 wickets at 30.66.

The left-arm spinner earned a Test recall against Pakistan, in May this year, following his domestic exploits for the Southern Rocks. Chisoro made his Test debut against the West Indies in 2017.

He helped Rocks win the Logan Cup last season with 18 scalps.

All-rounder Campbell, who is on the books of MidWest Rhinos, is also set for club cricket in England.

He has been signed by Salesbury Cricket Club for their 2022 Ribblesdale Cricket League campaign.

Campbell is son of former Zimbabwe national team captain, Alistair Campbell, and has been treading his own path towards professional cricket, in recent years. He made his first-class debut with Rangers in the Logan Cup, two years ago, and has also featured for clubs in the UK, which include Wallasey, Helensburgh (Scotland), Widnes and Sandford.

After two productive stints with Widnes, including the 2019 “Player of the Year” award, he spent last summer playing for Sandford in the Devon League.

He featured for the Boost Defenders and Speen Ghar Tigers, during their 2017/18 and 2019/20 Premier League, while also excelling in club cricket, in both South Africa and the UK.

“We are delighted to announce the signing of our overseas professional, Johnathan Campbell, for the 2022 Ribblesdale league season.

‘‘Jono is a Zimbabwean all-rounder, who has come highly recommended following five previous successful seasons in the UK,” said Salesbury on their Facebook page.

Another all-rounder, Munyonga, has been roped in by Astwood Bank Cricket Club, for their 2022 Worcestershire League campaign.

The 22-year-old’s promising career started in November 2017, when he made his first-class debut for the Rising Stars, in the Logan Cup competition.

In February 2018, he made his List A debut in Rising Star’s victorious Pro50 Championship campaign and Munyonga was named “Player of the Series”.

In April 2019, he was named in Zimbabwe’s ODI squad for their series against the United Arab Emirates, but he didn’t feature, in any of the matches.

Instead, he headed to the UK, where he played for Rockingham Colliery, in the South Yorkshire Cricket League (Championship Division).

He produced excellent returns, striking 734 runs at 43.18, and taking 31 wickets at 18.30.

The all-rounder returned to Rockingham for a second stint, last summer, and once again impressed (594 runs at 28.29 and 33 wickets at 19.88).

After his two-season stint with Rockingham, the Zimbabwean all-rounder is now set to embark on a new opportunity in 2022, having signed with Astwood Bank, for their Worcestershire League campaign.
