Zanu-PF Secretary for Youth Affairs Cde Pupurai Togarepi has implored youths to focus on rebuilding the economy through entrepreneurship and desist from all forms of violence.

He said his visit to China would see Chinese youths from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) come into the country to impart entrepreneurship skills.

“Zanu-PF’s main agenda is to invest in youths as they are the leaders of tomorrow. You should be champions in various entrepreneurship skills so that our economy will improve in accordance with our President’s vision of becoming an Upper Middle Income economy by 2030,” said Cde Togarepi during a youth inter-district outreach in Mashonaland Central last week

“You (youths) are the ones responsible for rebuilding the economy. My visit to China was very crucial because very soon in July, there is going to be a team of experts in entrepreneurship who will teach our youths on self-sufficiency and become skilled in various areas; be it sewing, baking, and many more ideas.”

He said President Mnangagwa has set up centres where youths were going to be equipped with various skills and given machinery in line with trades of their choice.

Cde Togarepi chided youths who were still involved in violent acts, insisting it was time to rebuild the economy.

“Never find yourself being involved in any form of violence, it destroys the peaceful environment existing in the country. I strongly condemn violence in our party, you should lead by example,” said Cde Togarepi.

He urged youths to defend the revolution to ensure the ruling party continues to empower citizens.

Meanwhile, the Zanu-PF Youth League is closely monitoring the activities of rogue members who are working closely with the G40 cabal to tarnish the image of the party and the President.

The party’s Deputy Secretary for Youth Affairs, Cde Lewis Matutu, said there are some bad apples within the league who are clandestinely working against moral values of the Youth League.

“We will keep an eye on bad behaviour and signs of disloyalty among our members. There is some interference and infiltration by G40. It’s not only in the Youth League, but all structures of the party,” said Cde Matutu.

Cde Matutu called for high levels of discipline within the league.

“We want a united Youth League with a high level of discipline that is loyal to the party, President and his Presidium,” said Cde Matutu.

“What we say and what we do must reflect the image of the Youth League. It must not go against party policy.

“We are transforming the Youth League into a modern and acceptable structure. There is need to accept the views of other people within and outside the structures.

“A disciplined Youth League member will never deviate from the founding values of the party, but mould its existence to appeal to those outside the party.”

He urged the youth to defend the country from some rogue elements who are pushing for demonstrations against President Mnangagwa.

MDC leader Nelson Chamisa has threatened demonstrations to unseat a constitutionally-elected government.

“As Youth League, we will not tolerate any threat against the President,” said Cde Matutu.
