THE Zanu-PF Mashonaland West Province has started renovating its Rimuka administrative office in Kadoma which was torched by protesters during MDC-Alliance instigated violence in January this year.

Zanu-PF Mashonaland West Provincial Political Commissar Cde Simon Solomon said the Sanyati administrative district had set up a building committee which would ensure fundraising of money and building materials.

“As Zanu-PF Sanyati district we set up a building committee to ensure that the administrative office is renovated. This committee, which is being chaired by Cde Hardwork Berah, managed to fundraise and the renovations have already started,” he said.

“It is no secret that our office needed renovations after the January violence which saw the violent protesters burning our Kadoma office. We had to come up with a plan to renovate our office so that it continues to serve its purpose.”

In an interview recently, chairperson of the building committee Cde Berah said all the building materials had been acquired through the fundraising.

“We fundraised from our business persons around Kadoma in the Zanu-PF family. We were not only targeting monetary donations, but building materials as well. We got business people who donated and we managed to get enough material to renovate the office,” he said.

“The materials we got include timber, nails, IBR sheets, roof screws and window panes among other materials. The ceiling part is not yet taken care of, but we have a provision for it, all the material is there and we are waiting for progress.”

He said the committee was dedicated to renovate and improve the outlook of the administrative office.

“The cracked walls have already been demolished and soon we will be moving to the ceiling.

“The entire office has been fenced and we look forward to fixing the electricity here. Water and sewage facilities will be improved as we finish the renovations,” he said.
